Restaurant week kicked off in Chicago on January 24th and the night before I got to attend the First Bites Bash hosted by Choose Chicago. I would like to pause and note that I purchased a ticket. If you’re a food lover, this event kicks off Chicago Restaurant Week with a tasting from some of the best restaurants in the city. For me, it was a personalized Taste of Chicago. There were 69 restaurants in attendance, I was ready to take on as many bites as my stomach could handle. Unfortunately, I tapped out at number 11 but every single dish I tried was a 10/10.
Here’s everything I ate (before my stomach waved the white flag):
🍽 Costera Cocina – Tulum Cavatelli with Street Corn
🍽 Tandoor Char House – Chicken Boti & Tikka Masala Sauce
🍽 Eden – Butternut Squash Curry Soup
🍽 Norman’s Bistro – Bread Pudding
🍽 Fora – Confit Chicken Thigh
🍽 Roka Akor – Sashimi Tacos
🍽 Lure Fishbar – Salmon Tiradito
🍽 Perilla Steak – King Crab with Trout Roe
🍽 Miss Ricky’s – Short Rib Agnolotti Pasta
🍽 Nonna’s – Burrata Puttanesca
🍽 Lena Brava – Blanca Salsa Macha Ceviche
Why You Should Attend Next Year
Wine, cocktails, and water are included with your ticket. Because what’s a gourmet tasting without the perfect sip?
If you love food, discovering new restaurants, and experiencing Chicago’s incredible culinary scene in one place, First Bites Bash is a must-attend. Whether you’re a fan of fine dining, international cuisine, or just looking for an excuse to eat your heart out, this event is the perfect kickoff to Chicago Restaurant Week.
Sign-up for the text alerts and be prepared to buy your tickets as soon as they drop. There is also a VIP option. I can't wait to go again next year!
